The role of Group Finance Manager is located in our Australian Head Office in the Melbourne inner south eastern suburb of Notting Hill. Reporting to the Group CEO, and working closely with the General Manager, the main responsibility of this role will be to lead the management of company consolidated financials from the front. With a focus on end to end financial control and optimisation of performance through commercial insights, you will need to develop strong relationships across the wider business to ultimately drive key initiatives and performance.

You will be capable of understanding the complexities of an organisation which operates across many jurisdictions, both domestic and international, with a diverse and varied client base.

Attention to detail is key, as are strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple disciplines across the organisation.

On a day to day basis, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing month-end procedures, forecasts, budgets, statutory accounts and periodic reporting as required
  • Analysing monthly results including variance against budget and forecasts
  • Managing project reporting including margin and WIP analysis
  • Preparing the annual budget, produce quarterly re-forecast in commentary
  • Managing tax compliance and planning of the consolidated group including compliance and lodgement of R&D claim
  • Analysing and managing the Group’s cashflow position
  • Managing the needs and movement of corporate funds between entities with regard to international regulations and overall tax effectiveness
  • Manage relationships with banking, auditor and insurance providers
  • Board Reporting

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Relevant University business degree with post-graduate training and a commitment to professional development
  • Solid track record of accounting experience of at least five years; ideally having experience working with a Tier1 or Tier 2 accounting/consulting firm
  • Registered CPA or CA qualifications
  • High degree of computer literacy, advanced spreadsheet skills and hands-on working knowledge of basic industry accounting packages
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with good attention to detail
  • Experience managing multiple senior stakeholders and expectations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously, and in a team environment
  • High ethical standards and an honest approach to all aspects of business
