AMOG is looking for an engineer with experience in software safety and software assurance. The successful applicant would provide software assurance, software safety engineering and independent software safety assessment services for complex safety critical applications across a number of industries including transport, mining, and Defence.
This role is currently Melbourne or Perth. Depending on project requirements, interstate (and possibly international) travel may be required.
The successful applicant will posses:
- A tertiary qualification in software engineering (post-graduate qualifications would be highly regarded particularly of an assurance nature)
- A minimum of five years post-graduate experience in software or systems engineering environment
- At least three years spent in a software assurance role, or a high-integrity software development role
- Practitioner level knowledge of one or more of the following standards: IEC 61508-3, EN50128, or RTCA DO-178B/C
- An understanding of Safety PLC's and/or micro-controller based architectures used in safety critical environments is highly desirable
- Capability to independently lead software assurance workshops and conduct software assurance assessments to one of the standards defined above
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to present to large and varied audiences.
- Full working rights in Australia
A current Australian Defence security clearance, while not essential, would be an advantage.

We are seeking engineers with 3-15+ years postgraduate experience in System Safety and Risk Engineering, preferably within one or more of the following technical areas: Functional Safety Engineering (ideally with a qualification), Process Safety / Technical Risk Management, Systems Safety.
The ideal candidate/s would also have some experience in mining, or oil and gas, or chemical processing engineering projects, in addition to experience with client interface and project management, proposal writing, and/or market research.
